Women’s Health Education Sessions

There is a gap in healthcare when it comes to women's health education and we are hoping to bridge that gap in an effort to help you better advocate for your health and wellbeing. Our hopes is to support you through it all. To listen to your experience and your story and in the midst of doing so, provide you with nuggets of knowledge that can help you learn about your body and prioritize your health throughout each miraculous phase. Prenatal Education

One-on-one education session with a pelvic floor physical therapist about the stages of labor, basic information about your pelvic floor, issues that commonly occur during pregnancy, and healthy prenatal exercise. The session lasts between 30-60 minutes and will include time for questions and post-course handouts.

Childbirth Education

IOne-on-one education session with a pelvic floor physical therapist about labor and delivery topics for both vaginal and Cesarean section births. We will talk about breathing techniques, medication options, basic information about your pelvic floor, and discuss the stages of labor. This session will also discuss what a doula is and whether having a doula may be helpful for you. The session lasts between 30-60 minutes and will include time for questions.

Postpartum Education

One-on-one education session with a pelvic floor physical therapist about things people don’t tell you about the postpartum period, postpartum information specific to C-section recovery, and things that are common (and not normal) in the postpartum recovery journey. This information can help you prepare to find the right resources if you need professional assistance during your postpartum recovery.This session will also discuss what a lactation consultant is and how a lactation consultant may be helpful in your postpartum journey. The session lasts between 30-60 minutes and will include time for questions and post-course handouts.

Menopause Education

Health class started our education early about what to expect with puberty and menstruation, but most women are left to navigate menopause without any education. This education session is a one-on-one educational session with a pelvic floor physical therapist about what is perimenopause and menopause, normal body changes associated with menopause, and tips for embracing this season of life for women. The session will last approximately 30-60 minutes and will include time for questions, and receiving informational handouts post-course.

Bladder Education

One-on-one education session with a pelvic floor physical therapist about healthy bladder functions, eliminating bad bladder habits, healthy bladder tips, and basics about how the pelvic floor functions. The session will last approximately 30-60 minutes and will include time for questions, and receiving informational handouts post-course.
